ReplyDeleteMy best fortune was that I would remain healthy. That stays in the back of my mind even today and gives me comfort!
ReplyDeleteI don't really remember any particularly 'best' one, but have received my share of the 'you will experience new possibilities, value your friendships', etc. One of the problems with remembering one is that we always pass them around, so even if I did remember, it might not even have been mine!

ReplyDeleteThe best fortune cookie that I ever got was a few years ago at a Chinese place near my old house... "The weekend is imminent. Lucky numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6." I couldn't stop laughing at that one. I wonder if it was a joke on purpose or what!

He who laughs at himself never runs out of things to laugh at. I have plenty of things to laugh about myself too.
ReplyDeleteA few years back I got a fortune that said, "You will soon win a reward." It struck a nerve when I opened it up. Two days later, I won a drawing for $500, which was just enough to help me make rent!
ReplyDeleteI've never gotten a fortune cookie that was particularly memorable. Most are very general.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good at remembering them, but the last one I got just a few days ago was "You will soon receive a pleasant surprise". Still waiting though LOL
