Lip Clear Lysine+ Review
I have been getting cold sores ever since I was a little girl. They are always really painful and embarrassing. Cold sores are painful, unsightly blisters that form on the lips or just outside the mouth as a result of the herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1). While many people may carry this virus (it lies dormant in some), upwards of 60 million people get cold sores annually as a result. Cold sores can last for up to two weeks, in some cases, and are very contagious. The virus can be spread through kissing, touching, sharing cups and utensils, towels, etc. Cold sores can be triggered by sunlight, arginine rich foods, fever, illness, stress, food allergies and hormonal changes. In addition to being embarrassing for sufferers, cold sores are often very painful, causing itching, burning and other discomfort.
While there is no cure for HSV1 and the resulting cold sores, the best solution is to heal them as quickly as possible. LIP CLEAR Lysine+ Cold Sore Treatment utilizes the active zinc oxide, as well as lysine – an essential amino acid – and 14 other natural ingredients to help treat cold sores faster; according to a Southern California University of Health Sciences study. It is clinically shown to cut healing time in half, median time to complete cold sore healing was four days, and a remarkable 40% of participants had full cure by end of third day. LIP CLEAR’s unique combination of natural ingredients provides immediate relief from symptomatic burning, itching and tingling upon application. LIP CLEAR Lysine+ is all-natural, has a non-chemical flavor, goes on clear, can be worn under lipstick and doesn’t burn on application. It provides immediate soothing relief of burning and itching.
I was happy to receive something that would make the sores hurt less and heal faster. I tend to get more sores during the winter, so I'm excited to have this on hand for my next break out. I am also happy this treatment is cheaper than most others. If you suffer from cold sores like I do, you need to check out Lip Clear Lysine+.
Suggested retail price is $6.99 for a 7-gram tube; available at drug stores, supermarkets and health food stores nationwide, and online at Lip Clear
Disclaimer: I received a free tube of Lip Clear Lysine+ for this review.
MyClyns Review
With the recent worry about flu, many are concerned with germs. That’s why I’m so excited to tell you about MyClyns, a new alcohol-free, germ protection spray that you can immediately use on your face when exposed to harmful pathogens. The non-toxic, non-burning spray contains a fast-acting solution that has shown to reduce more than 60 potentially dangerous germs, including MRSA, staph and E-coli*.
Why It’s Unique: MyClyns is the only germ defense for use in the eyes, nose and mouth – offering protection where you need it most – common entry points for most germs. It is a compact, non-aerosol pump spray shaped like a pen and easy to slip into a pocket, baby bag, purse or carry-on (meets airline restrictions) for everyday use and when traveling. MyClyns is safe to spray directly onto the face and even onto open cuts and abrasions. It’s safe for people of all ages, even those who wear contact lenses. While many other germ sanitizers are good for prevention, MyClyns is designed to be used after the unexpected incident occurs –so if a person sitting in front of you or next to you coughs or sneezes, simply take out your MyClyns and spray 2-3 mists on your face and you’re good to go. Each vial has approximately 60 mists and can be thrown out when it’s empty.
MyClyns is trusted and used by hospitals and first responders (EMS, police, firemen, etc.) – whose contact with germs is often extreme – and is now being made available to consumers to be the perfect complement to hand sanitizers as part of a complete germ-fighting routine. MyClyns, is sold at CVS stores nationwide along with other chain stores for suggested retail price of $9.99. You can get more information about the product at the newly redesigned Web site My Germ Spray.
I recently tried MyClyns and was worried that it would smell bad or something. However, it doesn't really have a scent. I also noticed almost immediately feeling cleaner. I definitely think this will come in handy this winter, especially with being a college student. This is great for students and teachers!
Disclaimer: I received a free thing of MyClyns for this review.
*Independent laboratory tests have shown that the solution in MyClyns demonstrates a 99.99% reduction in more than 60 potentially dangerous pathogens.

Lone Star Legend Review
I recently received a copy of Lone Star Legend by Gwendolyn Zepeda to review. I was first interested in this book because it is about a woman who keeps a blog and tries to keep her identity from being known. She writes about her personal life, including boyfriend and parents on this blog. However, because she never identifies herself or others she thinks that she can keep this blog as a little secret where she can complain and let off some steam to her readers.
Things take an interesting turn when the company Sandy has been writing for is taken over by a larger company. This new company forces Sandy to write about celebrities and to be nasty about things. When the website she writes for gains popularity, the site's readers find her blog! This causes Sandy much embarrassment as her ex-boyfriend reads it and so does her mother. The story follows Sandy as she tries to deal with her increasingly demanding job and personal life that is ruined by her blog.
This just goes to show that just because my picture isn't on here and I don't name my boyfriend or family doesn't mean that people can't figure it out. Lone Star Legend is a good read and I'd recommend it.

Skin MD
I recently got to try some new (to me) lotion from Skin MD! Skin MD Natural is a shielding lotion, a breakthrough in skin care technology. It bonds with the outer layer of skin to form a new protective layer that locks in natural moisture, protects against chemicals and other impurities, and lets the skin heal itself.
Why use Skin MD Natural?
* Shields and protects the skin
* Non-greasy and fast absorbing
* SPF 15 sunscreen protects against sun damage
* Prevents and heals dry skin
* Natural – no harmful ingredients
* Manufactured using solar power; green renewable energy
* Helps just about every skin problem
* Enhances and protects an already beautiful complexion
* Also available with the added protection of SPF 15Â
Once I applied Skin MD lotion I immediately felt the difference! My hands were instantly smooth and soft! I can tell this is going to be great to have around with this cold weather! I think this maybe my new favorite lotion! I also put it on my neck because that's one of the places where I tend to get the driest. My neck almost instanteously felt better! This stuff works wonders! Check out Skin MD now!

Colgate Wisp
Colgate Wisp™ is a single use mini toothbrush with a breath freshening bead that cleans teeth and freshens breath on the go, no water or rinsing required. Smaller than a lipstick or a car key, its discrete size makes it perfect for keeping on hand this holiday season when close encounters are sure to happen. Whether it’s an unexpected kiss from a longtime counterpart or a mistletoe mishap at the office, make sure you’re prepared with a fresh mouth anytime, anywhere with Colgate Wisp™. Available in the oral care aisle nationwide, Colgate Wisp retail for $2.39 for a 4pk and $7.99 for a 16pk, don’t get caught without them this holiday season.
I got to try all three flavors of the Colgate Wisp and must admit that I was impressed! I was a bit worried about how clean my mouth would really get with a little stick and a bead. However, this is way more than that! The bead's flavor is good for your whole mouth! The stick part also has a pointed end that seems good for digging out things between your teeth! I loved the cinnamon flavor! I also let my boyfriend try one after drinking some caramel something. I was pleasantly surprised when he didn't smell like his drink, but instead was cinnamon-y fresh! These are great for the holidays, dates, and a person on the go!

Rosa's Fudge and Giveaway
I'm really happy to say that I recently tried some Rosa's Fudge! I got an assortment of the fudge in a box! I loved most of them! My favorites were chocolate, peanut butter with chocolate, and peanut butter! I also liked the coffee with chocolate! My boyfriend really liked the chocolate raspberry! Rosa's Fudge has something for everyone! Their fudge is great. I was really happy to get it at this time of the year... it makes cramming for finals and finishing end of the semester projects a little less painful when you reach for a nice piece of fudge. I also appreciate that the pieces are individually wrapped. This keeps you from eating the whole box at once!

Blurb Review
As I previously said, I made a photo book from Blurb to review! I must say I am VERY happy with this book. I don't want to show you pictures yet because I'm actually going to give it my boyfriend for Christmas, but I can tell you that I'm very impressed with the ease and quality of Blurb.
I simply downloaded their software and added my picture/collages to the page. As you are doing this you can select which type and size of your book. You can even do a hardback book (like I got)! You can choose from:
• Square 7x7 inches
• Standard Landscape 10x8
• Portrait 8x10
• Large Format Landscape 13x11
All books except the 13x11 are available in softcover, hardcover with dust jacket, and ImageWrap hardcover, and are printed on high-quality 80-pound paper and feature professional-quality binding. Prices begin at $12.95 per book for Square 7x7 softcover.
Once you've uploaded the pictures you just have to give it some finishing touches and then go online and order it! It's very simple and painless! The hardest part was deciding on the right pictures to use!
The shipping was pretty quick too! Upon receiving it, I showed my mom and she was equally impressed. She said that my boyfriend would love it (I hope he does, the only part I'm nervous about is the pictures I used). I can't say enough good things about this! It really is like a normal book you would buy at the store!
Check out Blurb today or anytime you need a unique/fun gift!

Amano Chocolate Review
I recently tried some Amano Artisan Chocolate! This stuff is exquisite! I got to try their Guayas (pictured above), Dos Rios, and Madagascar bars! I must say there is no other chocolate like this! Amano even provides instructions for actually tasting the chocolate. They believe that, "With fine chocolate you should pick up many flavors like you would with fine wine." I had never really had chocolate like this! It was stronger than what I'm used to. This is definitely not what you typically buy in the store. It has so many different tastes in each bar! These bars also smell different! Amano Chocolate is like not other chocolate. I also like that each bar has a beautiful picture on the outside box and the artist's name is on the back!
Next time you're in the mood for some new, tasty chocolate, check out Amano Artisan Chocolate!
Disclaimer: I received a free sample of the three bars for this review.

Cool-Jams
I received the Vanessa pajamas pictured above from Cool-Jams! These pajamas are really soft and comfortable! "Cool-jams wicking VANESSA 2-piece pajama set with long pant bottoms and matching short sleeve top with contrast trim. This popular PJ style will keep you cool, dry and comfy all night. Our quick drying, silky soft moisture wicking smart fabric wicks away moisture to provide stylish relief to night sweats and hot flashes. Cool-jams fabric has a super soft cotton like feel with wicking ability that never washes out. In fact, the wicking action is scientifically woven into the fabric itself."
My only complaint is that it's a little thinner than what I'm used to (I typically wear mis-matched shirt and pants/shorts to bed). However, they are really nice and they aren't too thin.

OOBonomics
The creator of ThinkOOB has written a book that contains 12 Outside Of the Box economic ideas! One of which is the ShopAmerica gift card which sounds like a great idea to me! It also includes an idea on using your 401(k) to pay off credit cards.
The goal is to come up with ideas to help the economy. All of the OOBonomic ideas are:
*Originial
*Free
*Focused
*Voluntary
*Transparent
The great thing about this book is that Al Lewis (the author) gives the readers a chance to come up with their own ideas to be featured in another book and to win money! If you can come up with an idea that fits the above requirements, you can win alot of money! Al Lewis is offering a $1 million reward for the first economic idea published on his website ThinkOOB, to get into national plicy and $500 for any idea used in the next edition of OOBonomics!
Al Lewis wants us to start think Outside of the Box to fix our current economic woes. He encourages everyone to get creative and post comments (which can earn you $20)!
If nothing else, the book provides a few laughs. James Carville said, "OOBonomics has provocative, original ideas for everyone - Democrats and Republicans alike. Lewis explains them with humor and clarity, and with short enough words that even George W. Bush would understand them."

Sephora's Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries: Bare Skin
Inspired by entrepreneurial powerhouse Leslie Blodgett’s dynamic life, Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries is a limited edition fragrance collection, created exclusively for Sephora, that revisits and evokes pivotal moments in Leslie’s life. Having kept journals since she was a young girl, Leslie has captured the essence of every trip she has taken through the pages of her journals. With the release of its first fragrance Bare Skin on 10/08, these pages have been brought to life through scent, enabling Leslie’s ardent fans to walk a fragrant mile in her shoes.
Bare Skin, the first scent in the series, is reminiscent of an experience during a trip to Mexico, where Leslie cart-wheeled fancy-free down a sunny beach while emanating true, unbridled joy. “When I have an experience, I like to have a scent behind it. Bare Skin, which is what Mexico reminds me of, is the way you feel when the sun is beating down on you during the day, but then you go out at night and you’re still sizzling from the warmth of the day which mingles with the night air and the music.”
“Glowing, sun-kissed skin has the power to turn heads. I wanted to recreate that attractive force with notes that draw you in: creamy sensuality, caressing florals and uninhibited musk,” says Stephen Nilsen, the celebrated Givaudan perfumer who helped concoct Bare Skin. “With Bare Skin, you will find yourself basking in the sun, with your feet in the sand, after one spritz.”
Bare Skin is being offered in:
Bare Skin Eau de Parfum 1.7oz ($55): With emotional undertones throughout, the scent takes you from day to night with top notes of Black Pepper, Freesia and Anise that evoke the morning breeze coming through the window and the anticipation of the day ahead. The heart notes of Iris, Vanilla Orchid, Plumeria and Patchouli conjure walking to the beach and being on hot, hot sand. While the dry down notes of Sandalwood, Labdanum and Musk tell of the soft, sexy chatter between couples and the music that surrounds. Leslie recommends spraying the fragrance on your pulse points and behind your neck – the heat from these areas will permeate the scent with every breath.
Bare Skin Solid Perfume Compact ($35): This pocket watch captures a moment of time in Leslie’s life and interprets it into a heady scent. Dab on pulse points for the ultimate exhilaration.
Bare Skin Perfumed Body Cream ($30): To perfectly compliment the fragrance, a luxurious body cream has been created. To extend the fragrance sensation, apply the hydrating body cream after showering and follow with a fragrance spritz near your heart.
I received a sample of the perfume to try. I must say, I've never smelled anything like it! It makes me wish it was summer again! I think it would make a great gift for holidays (it makes me think of warmer days and places).
Bare Skin can be purchased at: Sephora!
I also wanted to let my readers know that Leslie will be making two (2) in-store appearances this week to celebrate the launch of her exclusive new fragrance collection, Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries!
If you’re going to be in NYC on 11/18, you can meet Leslie at Sephora Times Square!
If you’re going to be in Tampa on 11/19, you can meet Leslie Blodget at the Sephora International Plaza!
Disclaimer: I received a free sample of the perfume for this review and that is all.

Sex Scandal America
I recently received a book to review titled, "Sex Scandal America." Seeing as how I love history I was excited to read this book and to get an understanding of how sex and scandals have changed (or not) over the course of America's history. I found this book to be very interesting. I had no idea that there were so many scandals in America, muchless so early! I have always heard that my generation is so bad and that there is too much sex. However, I believe whomever says this needs to read this book!
For the most part, we Americans haven't changed much as far as having sex and scandals. What has changed is the way we treat scandals and those involved. In the past people were embarrassed when they were caught in a scandal and didn't usually talk about. However, now, scandals are used for entertainment for the public. I would suggest this book to anyone interested in history or politics.
I don't want to giveaway too much juicy info from the book so, I'll leave you with this quote on the book:
"Did you know President Warren Harding had a bastard child and his wife was rumored to have poisoned him while he was still in the White House? Some political sex scandals of the past make today’s scandals look tame. David Rosen’s new book Sex Scandal America: Politics and the Ritual of Public Shaming not only chronicles these scandals but puts them in the context of political history. The book also discusses pre-revolutionary scandals, including Pocahontas, Thomas Jefferson’s sex scandal involving a slave who was also his wife’s half sister, the scandals of JFK, Bill Clinton, and other major politicians. There are also predictions that more states will adopt same sex unions, that the military will get rid of its Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell policy, and that abstinence only sex education will be replaced with safe sex education."
It can be purchased on Amazon.

For my birthday (It was last week) I tried the 12 pc Truffle Tower from Julia Baker Confections! "Trained at world-renowned Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, Julia Baker creates luxury chocolates and custom cake creations. She has made chocolate for Bono & U2, Jennifer Aniston and Paris Hilton."

It was great! I also like how each truffle is coated in toffee! It is delicious! The chocolates are handcrafted, look super, and taste great!
You should defintely check out Julia Baker Confections for chocolates and cakes! They are yummy!

Gypsy Soule Necklace
Gypsy Soule is owned by two women, Lorinda Graham-Van Newkirk and Amy Moorhouse. "Lorinda and Amy plan to build upon the core of Gypsy Soule — "products for women, designed by women." The collaboration began with friendship and a mutual work experience. Both bring various pieces of experience to the design table and plan to bring fresh, new items to the mainstream and western retail industry."
They are known for their beautiful flip-flops but make much more than that. I received one of their necklaces for review! I was sent the Hammered Cross Necklace!
I just love Gypsy Soule's use of color in this and their other pieces! Some of the other wonderful features include:
* Smooth and simple cross brought to life by an embellished chain
* 20” in length
* Inspired by turquoise, amethyst and citrine stones
* Stones are separated by small ½ inch matching crosses
* Adjustable hook for additional lengths
* Antique Base Metal
This is a truly beautiful and interesting necklace! I feel like their website does an excellent job of describing their pieces:
"Much more than just a shoe or a piece of jewelry, Gypsy Soule® products express an emotion. To offer products that lead, rather than follow; define elements of personality; and make women feel good about themselves is the goal.
Come with us and unleash your SOULE."
All of the Gypsy Soule pieces are wonderful, but I really like the use of turquoise in this necklace. I also like how it has one big cross and several smaller crosses! Now, I just need to find an outfit good enough for it!

YMI Jeans Review & Giveaway
YMI Jeans makes great jeans for everyone! I was lucky enough to receive a pair to review, like these:
I really like them! I love dark washes and these are perfect! I also like how soft they are. I think the pockets give them more character. I'm in love with my YMI Jeans! I must admit because of the size I had to get to fit my stomach they were a bit long in the legs. However, thanks to my mom's wonderful laundry abilities they fit perfectly in no time without being too tight in other places!

The Letter Tree Mousepad Review and Giveaway
I recently was able to pick out an adorable mousepad monogrammed with my name for review from The Letter Tree! Spruce up your desk with their Monogrammed Mousepads! This fun, preppy monogrammed gift measures 7 1/2" x 8 1/2". Choose your mousepad design from our selection of four fun styles. Monogrammed mousepads can be personalized with a name, initial, or monogram.
I picked: Polka Dot, Light Blue, Princess Script, "Lindsay". Here it is!
Isn't it beautiful? I love it! I like that the mouse pad is soft and big. Plus, I really like that you can have it monogrammed with your name or initials! The monogramming is of great quality too! I showed my mom and she thought it was wonderful! These definitely aren't your typical mouse pads!

We Love Colors Tights
We Love Colors offers multiple colors of tights in all sizes! I received two pairs to try! I must say these tights are wonderful! They are super soft and stretchy! I can tell that these tights are made to last, they won't rip as easily as other pairs. I appreciate that they make all sorts of sizes, so there's a pair for everyone! They also have an array of colors (50+)!
Next time you need a new pair of tights (it is getting colder) check out
We Love Colors! They also carry other products, such as leggings, and dance wear!

Revlon Fantasy Lengths
Revlon has several great lines of eyelashes available in drugstores. There are several styles of glue-on eyelashes available for those who prefer to use glue. For those who want something a little easier to apply, Revlon’s self-adhesive eyelashes are perfect! They require no messy glue, are very easy to apply, and are latex-free, which means they’re gentle on the eyes. Styles range from natural to glamorous, so you can choose the eyelash that completes the look you’re going for.
I received several packages of these eyelashes to try. I've always been reluctant to try fake eyelashes because of the mess and I was afraid of what they would look like. However, I really liked these:
They are the self-adhesive ones! These are perfect for me because I don't have the patience or time to deal with applying glue. These are really easy to apply and makes no mess! They even come with extra self-adhesive strips! The lashes are also pretty easy to get off!
I also like these because they are one of the more simple ones. It's appropriately called "Defining." It gives me more length and volume! Next time you need fake eyelashes, I would definitely recommend the Revlon Fantasy Lengths! They would be perfect for the holidays and parties!

The Job Coach for Young Professionals & Giveaway
I received a copy of "The Job Coach for Young Professionals: The Workbook You Need to Land the Right Job" by Susan Kennedy and Karen Baker.
"College grads have a tough time in the workforce: the turnover rate is 64% in the first three years of employment. Why? College grads can get a job but they aren’t getting the right job. They also don’t realize that finding the right job is a life skill that can be used throughout their professional lives.
Now there is a resource for finding – and keeping – that dream job: The Job Coach for Young Professionals.
This interactive guide begins (Assess Myself) with a complete self assessment of skills, interest, work values. The reader will learn who they are, what they’re good at and how this translates into the right job. The second section, Prepare Myself, helps the reader prepare for an interview, from the answer to “Tell me about yourself” through those tough interview questions and salary negotiations. The third section, Sell Myself, teaches the reader how to conduct an effective job search. Even the most timid of readers will perfect the skill of networking, the right way to use a job board in a job search as well as how to plan and execute a successful search.
The fourth section, entitled Succeed gives practical advice on how to prepare for the first day and how to manage your career."
I really enjoyed the Assess Myself section. I discovered that my top five skills were: Research, Counseling & Serving, Organizational, Training & Consulting, and Administrative. I was not surprised by my two lowest skils: Building/Mechanical and Creativity. I also learned my top five interests: Counseling & Serving, Organizational, Training & Cousulting, Interpersonal, and Administrative. I was surprised that my top skill was Research because I'm so tired of doing research papers! However, I guess it makes sense after thinking about how much time I spend on the Internet and reading. I was also surprised with Administrative skill and interest, I hadn't expected that one.
This workbook is great for anyone trying to find a job, not just your first one! I believe this is a great thing to have around right now because of the economy and the competitive job market. I like how the workbook even gives the reader advice for the interview and after wards. I appreciate it giving examples of Thank You letters, which I believe there aren't enough of these days! I also liked the examples of a Resume and Cover Letter! This is a wonderful book for recent graduates, soon-to-be grads, and those just looking for a different (and better) job.

Eating Animals Review
I received a copy of a book that came out today to review! It is EATING ANIMALS by Jonathan Safran Foer.
"Brilliantly synthesizing philosophy, literature, science, memoir and his own detective work, Eating Animals explores the many fictions we use to justify our eating habits-from folklore to pop culture to family traditions and national myth-and how such tales can lull us into a brutal forgetting."
Jonathan has been wavering on being a vegetarian for most of his life. However, once his son was born he decided it was time to do some research on the animals we eat. Johnathan Safran Foer shares his adventures of this research in his new book, Eating Animals. I love how every chapter begins with an interesting fact, like "Americans choose to eat less than .01% of the known edible food on the planet." I also like that Johnathan includes stories from other people who are involved with different aspects of animals and eating them, from a Vegetarian Rancher to a Factory Farmer. He tries to give the reader every side of the story.
Since doing his research Johnathan has become a vegetarian. The book did not persuade me to be one, but I found the book to be a very thought-provoking in-depth story. I really liked how he challenged what we normally think about animals, like man's best friend. It is a good read that makes you think!
