The Knight Life Review and Giveaway

The Knight Life Book Cover Thanks to my membership at the Product Review Place, I came across the chance to review the book The Knight Life by Keith Knight.  The Knight Life is a collection of comic strips from Keith Knight.  The strips in this book are short, but they are put together in such a way that it flows and makes some sense.  The strips are cute and funny.  The strips are from Knight’s weekly comic strip “The K Chronicles”.

Now, I don’t really consider myself to be a comic strip reader/fan.  However, once I looked at Keith’s website and read a few strips, I thought he was funny and worth reading.  Keith does bits about things that happen to him, his family and friends.  Everyone can relate to his strips.

I especially like the Life’s Little Victories pieces.  Keith includes the little things in life that make us all feel like we have accomplished something.  One of these little victories includes running into an ex who dumped you two years ago and has turned into a dog!  Haha!  This books is filled with strips that are humorous like that.  It’s 210 pages of random relatable laughs.

Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites Review

Farm Rich Logo I recently got to try some Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites.  Farm Rich offers a wide selection of easy to make snacks and I received a coupon to try one of their products for free!  I picked the Mozzarella Bites because I love cheese sticks!  Let me say that these bites did not disappoint!

Farm Rich Snack Here is a plate of Mozzarella Bites that I microwaved and ate!  Don’t they look delicious?  These would be the perfect thing to Mozzarella Biteshave on hand for a child after school because they can fix it themselves!  They are also great for college students like me.  They make for a wonderful quick snack!  Here is a close-up of the mozzarella bites!

I loved my mozzarella bites!  They are yummy!  They will be great to have in the freezer since I’m home for the summer!  I might even have to check out some of their other good-looking products!  I think some of them could even be used for an easy meal or a nice little party!

Cheryl and Co. Update

I wanted to update my readers on the bad experience I had with Cheryl and Co. the other week.  Once I posted the bad experience, Cheryl and Co. contacted me to send me a replacement shipment.  So, I must say that I’m impressed with their customer service!  They contacted me within a few hours of the post going up and apologized for my experience.

I received my replacement cookies on Thursday(which is actually a day earlier than their email had said to expect them)!  They were a nice surprise to return home to from my trip!  I opened the box and there was one cookie that was only partially broke.  It was not that bad, it had broke in half so I can’t really complain about it.

So, I guess my update is just to say that your cookies may arrive broken, but Cheryl and Co. has some excellent customer service that will send a replacement order!  : )  I might use them again just because my experience with the cs rep was so nice.   Thanks Cheryl and Co.!

Disclaimer:  Cheryl and Co. sent me a replacement order for my damaged cookies but I was not required to post anything about it.  No compensation was received.  The opinions expressed are my own.

Soft Scrub Total Kitchen Review

Soft Scrub Total Kitchen

You may recall that I’m a Soft Scrub Club Captain and because of it I get to receive and review Soft Scrub cleaning products.  Well, I recently received some Soft Scrub Total Kitchen cleaner to review.  It’s much like the Total Bathroom cleaner I reviewed before, but for the kitchen.  I decided to use this cleaner when I made a mess while attempting to make some un-related brownies.  Dirty Kitchen Countertop

Here is a picture of the kitchen counter before I used the Soft Scrub Total Kitchen on it.  Doesn’t that look gross?  I really made a good mess that night.  If you noticed, I said that I attempted to make brownies.  It’s a long story, but it didn’t go so well.  Haha!  I’m usually an ok cook, but that night could have gone better.  To get to the point, the kitchen was really messy.  So, I decided to take the chance to use my Total Kitchen cleaner.  I simply sprayed the mess with the Soft Scrub Total Kitchen and…

Soft Scrub Total Kitchen AfterViola!  Doesn’t that look much cleaner/better?  It made cleaning really easy!  The Soft Scrub Total Kitchen can even be used upside down!  Yay!  It can even be a foam or spray!  It’s a multi-use cleaner!  I also liked that it has a light lemon scent.  It makes the whole kitchen look and smell better!

Disclaimer:  I received a free bottle of Soft Scrub Total Kitchen for being a Soft Scrub Club Captain.  No other compensation was received.  The opinions expressed are my own.

UltraSheer Liquid Daily Sunblock from Neutrogena 2nd Review

Neutrogena Sunblock
You may recall my initial impressions of the Neutrogena UltraSheer Liquid Daily Sunblock where I was impressed with it. Well, I'm back with my 2nd and final review of it. I've been using it for a couple weeks now and still like it.

It is still a very light sunblock. It doesn't feel like other sunblocks. I did say that it doesn't initially smell like other sunblocks. However, I have noticed that after wearing it for a few hours, it does take on that usual sunblock-y smell. It is not as strong as other sunblock's scents, but I just thought it was worth noting.

I really like this sunblock and will continue using it. It doesn't feel heavy or weird on my skin. It also goes nicely under makeup. The next time I need new sunblock, I will check out Neutrogena's line of sunblocks. Don't forget, there is a $2 coupon for Neutrogena Sunblock that you may use to try it for yourself.

Would you like to review products, too? Then go to Giant Wave Pool.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received the product mentioned above for free for review purposes from Tidal Labs. I was not required to write a positive review. Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Kit and Giveaway

Auntie Anne's Pretzel KitAuntie Anne's is known for their delicious pretzels.  Did you know that they also make a Pretzel Kit?  I received one of their wonderful kits to review.  Auntie Anne's Pretzel KitThe whole process is a little time consuming because you have to make the dough and then wait for it to rise.  It also takes a bit of practice to make the pretzels the right shape.  The directions have you work with the dough until it is just thin enough to twist into a  perfect pretzel.  When we made our pretzels though, we didn’t roll them out that long because we didn’t have enough room and they turned out ok.  Auntie Anne's Pretzel Kit BakedI thought I’d share some pictures of the pretzels with you!  The kit comes with a packet of salt and a packet of cinnamon/sugar!  The picture above is of the salt pretzels prior to baking (you put the salt on before you bake).  The picture to the left is of some pretzels and a bread stick after they were baked (we were going to put the cinnamon/sugar on and you do that after they bake).  Don’t they look yummy already?  The directions say to put butter on them so the cinnamon/sugar mixtures sticks to it.  However, I can safely say that these are so good you don’t have to add anything to them!  Cinnamon Sugar PretzelMy boyfriend actually preferred them plain!  I did add some cinnamon/sugar to my stick and the remaining pretzels on this tray.  Here is a photo of one of the pretzels with cinnamon/sugar on it!   YUMMY!  They were truly delicious!

Now, for the salty pretzels!   I added some butter on top of the pretzel after it came out of the oven (as per the directions) and they were delicious!  Buttery Salt PretzelThe combination of warm pretzel with melted butter and some salt was truly amazing!

Even though it was time-consuming and required some skill for twisting (which luckily my boyfriend had), the pretzels are worth it!  I would make them again!  It’s a good thing these are not in stores, because I would buy one every couple of months (at least).

Now that your mouth is watering…

I’m going to…

You may have noticed my Tweets about it or read this post asking you to guess where I'm going  today and tomorrow.  Well, it’s time for the announcement.   One person, Thrifty Mama Bee, guessed correctly.  Although, she figured it out from the hints because she attended and drove me to the WeBlog Conference
That’s right, I’m headed back to Pigeon Forge/Sevierville/Gatlinburg, TN!  I’m going to be spending tonight at the wonderful Wilderness at the SmokiesWilderness at the Smokies Waterpark
This awesome resort has wonderful rooms with wonderful waterparks, including this indoor one pictured above!  I’m pretty stoked about seeing the place.
Then, tomorrow, I get to see the Titanic Museum!  This is the reason Shanaka knew where I was going.  The WeBlog attendees found out that I LOVE the Titanic and we drove by the museum on the way to the conference!
Titanic Pigeon Forge
It’s half the size of the original Titanic!  I’m so excited about this!  I’ve never gotten to visit anything Titanic-related and I can’t wait to see it!
My boyfriend and I are leaving today to visit these awesome places!  Look out for my posts next week about our awesome little trip!

Life DVD Set Review

Life DVD Set

I recently received the Life DVD Set to review.  Life comes out on DVD today (June 1, 2010)!  Life was filmed over 3000 days and shows all sorts of animals and plants from all parts of Earth!  It is from the producers of Planet Earth and The Blue Planet:  Seas of Life and is from the BBC and the Discovery Channel!  It is also narrated by Oprah!  Life Video Clip

Life shows tender moments like in this picture with mother and child.  It also shows intense moments between a hunter and its prey.  I do not consider myself to be an animal person.  I selected to review this dvd set because it look interesting and sort of geeky.  Well, I was not disappointed.  This series is beautifully shot!  I wonder how they got some of the wonderful shots!  Some of the scenes are breath-taking and beautiful.  Some are simple and cute, like the one in this adorable video clip!

It’s no wonder that this series had a budget of $22 million!  Every scene is clear and wonderful.  It looks good on even older televisions (I watched it on multiple tv’s because there is 484 minutes on 4 dvds).  Each episode is less than an hour long, but it packs so much into that time.

My favorite episodes includes the first one, Challenges of Life, the third, Mammals, and the last one, Primates.  I really enjoyed seeing the relationshipsLife Frog on Leaf (or lack thereof) between the various animals.  I really can’t say enough good things about the quality of this series.  It should be a science teacher’s dream come true.  I could definitely see a teacher using this in the classroom!  It almost makes me like animals!   Although, I did not care for the hunting/stalking of the prey.  Those scenes are a bit graphic, I think.  They aren’t something I would show a young classroom, but maybe to a high school class.  Even so, I know it’s part of the wildlife and I’m just glad I’m not a wild animal!

Check it out and buy Life now.
