Cheryl and Co. Update

I wanted to update my readers on the bad experience I had with Cheryl and Co. the other week.  Once I posted the bad experience, Cheryl and Co. contacted me to send me a replacement shipment.  So, I must say that I’m impressed with their customer service!  They contacted me within a few hours of the post going up and apologized for my experience.

I received my replacement cookies on Thursday(which is actually a day earlier than their email had said to expect them)!  They were a nice surprise to return home to from my trip!  I opened the box and there was one cookie that was only partially broke.  It was not that bad, it had broke in half so I can’t really complain about it.

So, I guess my update is just to say that your cookies may arrive broken, but Cheryl and Co. has some excellent customer service that will send a replacement order!  : )  I might use them again just because my experience with the cs rep was so nice.   Thanks Cheryl and Co.!

Disclaimer:  Cheryl and Co. sent me a replacement order for my damaged cookies but I was not required to post anything about it.  No compensation was received.  The opinions expressed are my own.

Cheryl and Company Bad Experience

You may recall that I once did a Cheryl and Co Review and Giveaway where I talked about how good their products were and how the cookies could actually crumble in my hand.  Well, having had a good experience with them, I thought it was safe to actually place an order with them (for various reasons).  I’m sad to report that I was wrong.

I placed my order on Friday (the 21st) and was delighted to be able to pick which cookies and brownies to get in my selection.  I understood that since it was late on Friday, they would not ship until Monday.  So, I was excited when I received a shipping confirmation via email on Monday.  However, there was already an issue.  Cheryl and Co. was shipping via UPS, which makes sense since it’s a perishable good.  However, my issue was that when I was checking out, the site made me enter a USPS address.  It would not allow me to enter my house address because it could not be verified by USPS as an actual address and I had to enter my PO Box to submit an order.

Well, the confirmation showed I would get my order on the 26th.  I just figured that the UPS thing was a mistake or maybe they had figured out my physical address.  I was wrong.  I waited all day yesterday and nothing ever showed up.  At about 9 pm last night, we received a phone call from UPS.  They wanted to know our house address!  So, my mom gave it to them (she was the one who answered the phone) and I figured everything would be ok after all.

Broken Cheryl and Co. Flower Cookie Well, I just received my shipment and am upset because of the condition of the cookies!  The picture above shows what I received after waiting an extra day and worrying about it.  3 out of the 10 cookies are broken!  That means that both of the Frosted Chocolate Buttercream Chip Cookies I ordered are in pieces!  Here is a picture of one of  them!  It’s actually the better of the two!Broken Frosted Chocolate Buttercream Chip CookieLook at my poor Famous Buttercream Cut-out cookie!  It’s supposed to be a cute flower!  Broken Buttercream Cut-out Cookie

Well, maybe I’m over-reacting a bit.  However, I feel let down considering the wonderful experience I had from them when I did my review and giveaway.  This is not what I expected from them and I just wanted my readers to know what may happen if they took my previous advice and ordered from them.

I’m just curious, has anyone else ordered from them?  What was your experience?

Update: Cheryl and Co. has contacted me to send me a replacement for my order. I must say I am impressed with the timely response and nice people working there! :)

Disclosure:  I did not receive these cookies for review.  I actually ordered them on my own and received no product or compensation for this post.  Although, Cheryl and Co. is welcome to try and make up for it to change my opinion.

Pamela's (Yummy) Products Review

More than 3 million people in the US have Celiac Disease (the inability to digest gluten), 1 in every 166 people have Autism, and 1 out of every 6 adults has a food allergy. Pamela's Products makes goods that are gluten-free (which is recommended for those managing Autism) and wheat-free. I have been able to try some delicious goods from Pamela's Products! I got Chocolate Cake Mix and Vanilla Frosting Mix to make cupcakes! The "divine mix makes two luscious layers of deep, dark, rich cake. Pamela's Luscious Chocolate Cake will transport you to chocolate heaven. Pamela's Vanilla Frosting Mix makes a rich, creamy, and delightful frosting. Crafted from premium all natural ingredients including organic powdered sugar, it's the sweet beginning to a variety of irresistible icings." Both mixes are wheat-free, gluten-free, and non-dairy!

Using the silicone bake cups I received in the Valentine's Day Blogger Swap I made some great heart-shaped cupcakes! I was a bit curious if the mix would look any different since it's non-dairy. It does look a little more lumpy, to me. Here is a picture of the cake mix batter before being baked so you can see for yourself.

I was also a bit skeptical that it would turn out looking and tasting ok. Here is another picture of the cupcakes, when they came out of the oven.

Pamela's Products Chocolate Cake Mix Cupcake

As you can see, they turned out perfect! While they were cooling I set to making the vanilla frosting. The frosting turned out a bit more lumpy than I'm used to, but it could be because I didn't use enough water in the recipe. Either way, the cupcakes still looked great! Here is a picture of the cupcakes with frosting!

Pamela's Products Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Frosting Mix

These were some of the best cupcakes I've ever tried! I let my parents try them (I did this on a weekend where we were snowed in together) and didn't tell them they were non-dairy or anything different. They didn't even notice that they were different! Both of them said they were very good (I did leave the frosting off of dad's because he is not a fan of frosting)! Once I realized how much they liked them I didn't even bother telling them that they weren't your typical cupcakes!

Chunky Chocolate Chip

I also got to try the Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies from Pamela's Products! Pamela's Products calls it "comfort food at its finest" and I have to agree! They are wheat-free, gluten-free, and non-dairy. I wasn't sure what to expect from these cookies. They are bit different in texture than your regular cookie, however they are still delicious! I thought they tasted wonderful... I didn't share these with anyone; I ate the whole box! I also must say that I liked how they were packaged with individual sheets in between each cookie!

Pamela's Products aren't just for people with dietary restrictions; anyone can enjoy them! I would recommend Pamela's Products to everyone!

Cheryl And Co. Cookie Review and Giveaway

Cheryl and Co. Valentine's Day Sampler

I am lucky enough to have been sent some of the the best cookies ever from Cheryl and Co.! I received a Valentine's Day Sampler pictured above! It contains a yummy assortment of cookies and desserts!

It has wonderful chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies! I always love a good chocolate chip cookie and these hit the spot! I usually just "like" an oatmeal raisin cookie, but these I love! They are chewy and taste perfect! I only wish they were bigger! :)

The Dancing Hearts Gift Tower also comes with 2 fudge brownies, 4 confection pretzel clusters, and 2 drizzled pretzels! I ate one of the brownies and gave the other to my mom since she really likes brownies! We both enjoyed them lots! The confection pretzel clusters make for a great little snack! I enjoy being able to eat something from the set that isn't too big! The drizzled pretzels are also delicious!

Cheryl and Co. Frosted Heart Cookie

Lastly, are my 2 favorites from the set: buttercream frosted heart cut-out cookies (pictured above) and frosted triple chocolate cookies! I LOVED both of these cookies! My boyfriend got to try the heart cut-out cookies and thought they were great! Both cookies are just delicious! I'm forcing myself to not eat all of them at one time... I want them to last!

Everything comes individually wrapped and tastes fresh! The cookies actually crumble in my hand! Cheryl And Co. products are definitely worth the money! I love them!
